Meet Ivan - our tap-dancing-rhythm-loving bass player!
Ivan is a treasure-trove of musical facts and music history. He has played in the band for 11 years. Ivan loves to play 'Jump in the Line' and 'Ban Moin En Ti Bo'.

Gerry
Gerry is a melody player and has played with the band for over 2 years. Gerry is also a professional drummer and has recently supported the band as MD.
Sue
Sue has played melody in the band since it first formed, over 11 years ago, loving the unique and joyful sound made from playing steel pan.
Sue's favourite band tune is the Caribbean classic 'Jamaica Farewell'.

Naomi
Naomi has played melody pan in the band for over 10 years.
Jon
For over 6 years Jon has played melody pan in the band. His favourite tunes to play are Siyahamba, Johnny B Goode and One Day Like This.
Claire
Claire has been with the band for 8 years. Over that time, Claire has played double guitars, double altos and is now playing bass pans.
Helen
Melody player Helen has been with the band for 3 years. The tune she likes playing most is Hot, Hot, Hot.
Marie
Marie plays double altos and has been with Worthing Steel Band for more than 10 years. Her favourite band tunes are Peter Gunn, Skaravan and Ghost Town.
Julie
Julie has played in the band for 2 years. Julie plays double altos and enjoys playing Latin favourite Tijuana Taxi.
Robert
Robert is one of our melody players and has played with the band for 3 years. He adores the sound of steel pan and loves to play the theme from 'The Snowman', whatever the time of year!
Chris
Chris has been with the band since it first formed over 12 years ago! Chris has played on the double altos and now plays single alto. She enjoys playing Yellow Bird, Johnny B Goode and Sweet Caroline - especially when the audience join in with the words!
Taras
Taras has been drumming with the band for 2 years. His love of drumming began as a small child when he would bang his parent's saucepans, he has since upgraded to a drum kit and never looked back! Taras was a finalist in Young Drummer of the Year in 2020 - Taras is an incredibly talented drummer and we are very lucky to have him!
Jean
Jean has been in the band from the start, originally playing the double guitar pans, and now plays single Guitar. Jean's favourtie WSB tune to play is the glorious 'Sway'.
Johnan
Johnan plays double guitars and has been with the band for over 4 years.
Chris
Chris plays single alto and has been with the band for more than 10 years. You may also see Chris playing in a Samba band at various outdoor events in Sussex!
